Abstract

This article discusses the classification of types of focal mechanisms according to the mechanisms of earthquake sources and the classification of nodal planes that occurred in a certain period in the South Fergana seismogenic zone, as well as deformation forces in the same zone according to the totality of earthquake focal mechanisms.

The focal mechanism is divided into groups of 7 types, and their analysis revealed that strike-slip earthquakes are the most common, and strike-slip earthquakes are the least common.

Based on the research findings that small and individual blocks of the earth's crust are separated from each other under the action of transverse forces along the surfaces of cracks, earthquakes with a strike-slip slip type were analyzed by quantitative multiplicity.
