Abstract

Critical thinking skills are essential for students studying English literature. This article explores effective methods for developing critical thinking in the teaching of English literature based on a review of academic research. Classroom strategies, discussion techniques, and writing assignments that promote critical analysis are examined. The results indicate that an inquiry-based approach, Socratic questioning, and analytical writing tasks help students engage in deeper critical thinking about literature.
