History of trigonometry

Abstract

This paper makes analyses of the trigonometry , its history , usage and subject as the whole. Hence, in the 2nd century BC, a great deal of astronomical information was gathered. The need for mathematics increased, and trigonometry came into being due to the need for astronomy. The so-called "spherical trigonometry" came into being earlier than plane trigonometry. Trigonometry must be part of geometry. But the Greeks did not want to confuse geometry. Major scientists’ knowledge and ideas are not appropriate on each other. Research has concluded with the clear points of about subject and proposed some points for the further research investigations on the topic of trigonometry at all.
