The science of algebra and its origin
Abstract
Algebra (arab. الجبر "Al-Jabr") – is a branch of mathematics. The main task of algebra is to study the mathematical operations included in collections. There are mathematical operations that are not entirely arithmetic (for example, there are operations that do not obey the law of permutation or association). In arithmetic, the first four operations on definite numbers are studied. In algebra, however, the general properties of these operations are examined for any number and other non-numerical mathematical objects. In order to generalize such results, the values of quantities are denoted by letters, the rules and laws of operations on literal expressions are shown, the rules for changing the form of expressions and solving equations are studied.
