Abstract

Africa has quickly emerged as a key influence on how the world's economy, politics, and security will turn out. Africa has the biggest unrealized development potential of any developing region, making it appealing for commerce and foreign direct investment. Africa also has the most members of any United Nations Regional Group, giving it a significant voice in international institutions and making it a useful political ally in multilateral international issues. The world's three largest economies—the European Union, the United States, and China—are naturally interested in Africa because of its economic and political potential. The economies of the United States, Europe, and Africa are all covered in this article.
