Abstract

The article discusses issues related to the choice of criteria and methods for assessing the standard of living of the population. A special place is given to the criteria of living standards of the population. An indicator for determining the standard of living of the population and examples are given according to the UN development programs (UNDP) and the result of research to determine the human development index (HDI) and recommendations for improving methods for assessing the standard of living of the population.
