Abstract

The issues of forecasting the residual resource and extending the service life of traction electric motors of UzTE116M series locomotives are outlined. The main causes of failures of traction electric motors and statistical data on the causes of malfunctions of locomotive components after major repairs, as well as the causes of damage to traction electric motors ED-118B(A), taking into account real operating conditions, are considered.
