Abstract

This article explores the extralinguistic features of insults in both Uzbek and English, focusing on how cultural, social, and non-verbal elements influence the interpretation and impact of insults in these languages. While linguistic aspects of insults have been widely studied, this research highlights how gestures, tone, and social context are equally important. Using examples from Uzbek and English, this article illustrates how these features differ across cultures. Drawing from recent studies, this comparative approach provides insight into the cultural nuances of insults and their broader social implications.
