Abstract

The focus of the current study is on authors’ perspectives on how metaphorical language is handled in their literary works. In light of the conceptual metaphor theory, it also highlights metaphorical trends. Although metaphor is typically thought of as a figure of speech, it serves a variety of purposes in literary works.
