Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by chronic hyperglycemia caused by impaired insulin secretion, impaired insulin effects or a combination of these disorders. When establishing a diagnosis in children, the type of diabetes is determined based on the available signs, but the possibility of clinical diagnosis is hampered by factors such as the growing number of overweight patients among children with diabetes mellitus.
