Abstract

Pediatric appendiceal peritonitis presents unique challenges in anesthesia and intensive care due to the rapid progression of infection and potential for systemic complications. This article examines current practices in anesthesia induction, maintenance, and postoperative care specific to pediatric patients with appendiceal peritonitis. Key considerations include optimal fluid management, antibiotic therapy, pain control strategies, and monitoring for early signs of sepsis. Effective coordination between surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and intensivists is crucial to optimize outcomes in this challenging patient population.
