Abstract

It is known that seismic waves affecting buildings and structures are transmitted through the ground. Therefore, reducing the effect of seismic waves on the ground helps to get more effective results. This article deals with the design of soil cushions under the foundation of the building to reduce the level of seismic waves in areas with high seismicity. According to the results of the calculation, it was observed that the displacement, speed and acceleration of the seismic wave of the building on the foundation with a soil cushion significantly decreased compared to the natural state.
