Observations on the Termizis in “Fasl Al-Khitab”

Abstract

In writing his work Fasl al-Khitab, Khwaja Muhammad Parso (1349–1420) made effective use of various hadiths narrated in Imam Abu ‘Isa al-Tirmidhi’s Sunan al-Tirmidhi to support and substantiate his views at different points throughout the text. Below, we intend to present a few examples of this usage.

Analyzing and studying Khwaja Muhammad Parso’s works from the perspective of hadith scholarship is of particular importance. Through such an analysis, one can determine Khwaja Muhammad Parso’s position as a muhaddith (hadith scholar), as well as the degree of continuity and scholarly connection between him and the legacy of Imam Abu ‘Isa al-Tirmidhi.
