Avesto Onomastics and its Linguistic Hereditary Problems

This article discusses the linguistic features of the Zoroastrian holy book ‘Avesto’ that survived in Khorezmian dialects. The issue of onomastic elements in ‘Avesto’ has been studied basing on the existing linguistic, historical and social facts. The research outcome is the proof of the fact that Khorezm is the birthplace of Zoroastrian religion and its holy book ‘Avesto’. The authors studied the the onomastic language units denoting human and place names mentioned in ‘Avesto’ by classifying the methods of representation of these elements in the modern language. The article gives short and clear description of scientific views about the onomastic elements in the book.
