Abstract

This article demonstrates the place and role of the image of women in the bestselling of American modern literature, Barbara Kingsolver’s novel “The Bean Trees” and contemporary saga called “Beach House” by prominent writer Mary Alice Monroe. It discusses genuine works of the novelists Barbara Kingsolver and M.A.Monroe to explore how the author defined, reflected and shaped gender roles. This article discourses on the representation of eco-feminist views in sympathetic novels “The Bean Trees” and “Beach House”.
