Abstract

Cognitive dissonance, a psychological concept introduced by Leon Festinger, refers to the mental discomfort experienced when an individual holds conflicting beliefs, values, or attitudes, or when their behavior contradicts their beliefs. This article explores the manifestations of cognitive dissonance in translation, examining the factors that contribute to this internal conflict and its implications for translation practices.
